UNIPORT Student Shot Dead As Colleagues Protest Increase In Tuition Fees

The students of the University of Port Harcourt shut down all academic activities in the institution in the early hours of today, Monday, April 11, 2016.  The students blocked all entry and exit points in the institution, leaving the management and other students stranded.

The protesters, who are being led by the leadership of the student union, were clamoring against the increase of their fees and other levies. The sad news now is that we hear that one of the protesters has been shot dead.
