News On Snatch TV Series

Joining a long line of feature films being repackaged for the small-screen, Deadline is reporting that Crackle’s Snatch series has plucked Harry Potter alum Rupert Grint to star and executive produce.

An adaptation of Guy Ritchie’s gritty crime drama, the hour-long show is due to premiere on Sony’s service come 2017, when Grint will be assuming the role of Charlie Cavendish, a dynamic, frustratingly chaotic and utterly posh con man. Elsewhere on the casting docket, Dougray Scott is on board as a series regular with Ed Westwick set as a recurring guest star. Nick Renton of will helm the 10-episode season.

Doubling down on a new world replete with all-new characters, Snatchcenters on a group of twenty-something, up-and-coming hustlers who stumble upon a truck load of stolen gold bullion and are suddenly thrust into the high-stakes world of organized crime. The boys must quickly learn to navigate the treacherous waters of London’s underworld as rogue cops, gypsy fighters, international mobsters and local villains descend.” It’s said to retain the core spirit of Guy Ritchie’s 2000 mob picture.
