New Supergirl Promo Images

 

The CW has released the first batch of images from the upcoming fifth episode of Supergirl‘s second season, and they offer up an intriguing look at the titular hero heading into battle against a gang armed with some pretty formidable alien technology. However, as exciting as that may be, it’s possibly not the biggest talking point included here.

Earlier this year, it was revealed that one of Supergirl‘s characters will explore a same sex relationship. Speculation about who that will be has been running rampant ever since, but the prevailing opinion is that it will end up being Alex Danvers. The fact that openly gay character Detective Maggie Sawyer has now been introduced has added some weight to the theory that she’ll grow close with Alex, and the two characters can be seen interacting in the photos we have here.
