Taron Egerton Says Kingsman: The Golden Circle Is Absolutely Crazy

This may be a bold claim, but Matthew Vaughn’s Kingsman: The Secret Service was one of the best comic book adaptations of the past decade. Though it didn’t feature any iconic heroes and boasted a relative newcomer (Taron Egerton) as its star, the film managed to blow everyone away, delivering an entertaining, stylish and subversive adventure that left audiences begging for more.

Thankfully, we’ll be getting just that, as Vaughn is now hard at work on Kingsman: The Golden Circle, which will be with us in 2017. Bringing back Egerton, Colin Firth and Mark Strong, along with newcomers Channing Tatum, Halle Berry, Julianne Moore, Vinnie Jones, Elton John and Jeff Bridges, the sequel is sure to be a wild ride and is another exciting addition to an already stellar line-up of films for 2017.

Understandably, we still haven’t heard too much about The Golden Circle just yet, but apparently it’s going to be “absolutely crazy.” That’s according to Egerton, who recently spoke with Cinema Blend while promoting his new film Sing and had the following to say:Matthew Vaughn goes even further with it. It’s kind of absolutely crazy. Julianne Moore is the villain, and she’s genuinely terrifying. She’s really, really, really great. So it’s bigger, badder, more guns, you know? All that stuff. It’s fun.”

That, coupled with Firth’s comments from a while back about The Golden Circle being “outrageous and unconventional” has us thinking that the film may be able to surpass its predecessor. After all, with the setting being moved to America, it’s clear that Vaughn is looking to shake things up a bit here and given that the director never makes sequels, we’re inclined to believe that there’s something special about Kingsman: The Golden Circle.
