#AHMusicReview: Absolute Hearts Music Review

Compliment of the Season to you all, I hope you all started the New Year in a positive way? All of us at the music department of Absolute Hearts Blog wish you a great year ahead.

Yes this is the first 2017 episode of the best music review in Africa and like most of you would have noticed this year started slow on a music level but now the pace is picking up and Absolute Hearts Music Review is back to giving you the best unbiased music review. Without further ado this is what we have for you this week:

1.      Falz- Weh Done Sir: Falz and Sess kick started the year the same way the ended last year and I have to say that no rapper is as hard working as Falz at the moment. Weh Done Sir was already trending on social media before this release and when the song finally dropped I was more than impressed. From the beat to the production down to the lyrics and the new created slang by Falz (Wehdonesir) this song is a total 10/10 song and would trend at least till the first quarter of the year.

2.      Dj Neptune Ft. Falz, Ycee – Bumpa: Of course this song was recorded late last year but we had to wait till this year before we could have a feel of what the song sounds like and I must say it wasn’t disappointing. DJ Neptune employed the service of Falz and Ycee and they both killed it, the rating for this Mystro produced track would be 10/10.

3.      DWM Ft Davido X Mayorkun-Prayer: I have always said it that you don’t get it wrong when you do a prayer-song but I have to say this Davido and Mayourkun missed it on this one. Very cool chorus I must say but after that the rest of the song wasn’t just it. The rating would be a 5/10 and this is because of the lovely beat.

4.      Koker -Bokiniyen: Mr Koker kick start the year with another powerful song produced by Krisbeat the drummer boy. Bokiniyen is a beautiful love song with a lovely highlife production and of course just like most of his songs he released last year this song would also go far. The rating would be 8/10.

5.      Rayce Ft. D’banj – Shikishiki Mami: Rayce teams up with D’banj with production credits to Puff T and together they gave us Shikishiki Mami. Rayce is one of those artistes that aren’t that consistent but whenever he drops a new jam that song would definitely trend. D’banj also came through on this song as the rating would be 9/10

6.      Klever Jay ft Oristefemi -Adura: I must commend Klever Jay, since his return to the music scene late 2015 he has been impressive and gradually he his crawling back to the top. I would suggest that Davido and Mayourkun should listen to this song and have an idea of how to do a prayer-song because Klever Jay and Oristefemi killed it on this one. Of course I can’t forget the beat and production of the song which was done by Lahlah, someone I haven’t heard much from in a very long time, the rating would be 8/10.

7.      Awilo Longomba ft Yemi Alade - Rihanna: Okay I never saw this coming but then again I think it was only a matter of time before one of the greatest musicians in Africa would feature Mama Africa herself. Awilo Longomba still has the magic touch (or should I say rhyme) that would always get us up on our feet and he came through on this one with Yemi Alade on a beat that sounds a little bit like Psqaure Shikina. Production credits goes to Vtek which explains why the beat sounds like that of Shikina he is responsible for both songs, the rating would be 8/10.

8.      Patoranking ft Machel Montano x Wande Coal x Busy Signal My Woman My Everything-Remix: Patoranking kick start the year with the remix to his major hit single and on this one two international superstar. Busy Signal (Jamaica) and Machel Montano (Trinidad and Tobago) came through, leaving the chorus untouched was also a nice move. The rating would be 8/10.

9.      Omar Sterling ft Burna Boy -Unruly: The second half of R2bees, Omar-Sterling, has kick-started the year with a deep rap song titled Unruly and this one features Nigeria's very own, Burna Boy. This song would only appeal to those that truly appreciate rap music as this is one of those old school kind of rap and the production credit goes to Killbeats, of course Burna Boy also came through on this one. The rating would be 8/10.

10.  Mc Galaxy Your-Love: Ok Mc Galaxy decided to go all romantic on us as he drops this beautiful love song called Your Love. Not a song that would become an instant hit but as time goes on and if backed with a good video the song would trend for a while. The rating would be 7/10.

11.  Praiz -Folashade: I am not a fan of Praiz at all but I have to say this is a classic song, I can’t explain how much I love this song. From the vocals down to the lyrics to the production everything about this song is lit. The rating would be a 9/10.

12.  TM9ja - Hello E: This guy had some much potential when he first burst into the music scene with songs like Tungba, Magawu and some major collaboration but after a while he just faded away. Real name Tolu Musa (brother of video director Moe Musa) makes his return with this decent song titled Hello E and the rating would 7/10.

Thank you...
