Philippe Coutinho
returned to first-team training with Liverpool
on Friday, nine days ahead of their clash with Man United. The Brazilian midfielder, along with England striker Daniel Sturridge, joined in the session
with the main squad at Melwood.
Coutinho has been missing for Liverpool since sustaining an ankle injury in the 2-0 win over Sunderland at Anfield at the end of November. At the time of his injury, Coutinho had scored six goals
and provided five assists to a Reds side who were second to Chelsea by just a single point in the
Premier League table.
Sturridge
had not trained throughout this week, having being taken off as a precaution in
the 2-2 draw, also against Sunderland, on Monday.
