#AHAlbumReview: Absolute Hearts Album review || Belloved by @koredebello

Artiste: Korede Bello
Album: Belloved
Tracks: 14 (3 Bonus)
Features: None
Producers: Don Jazzy, Baby Fresh, Altims and Cobhams

I have to say the honest truth, I have never doubted Korede Bello's ability to deliver but with this album I would say he blew me beyond expectation. From the moment I saw the track list I knew I had to lay my hand on this album, many of you might not know this but it is a big risk for an artiste most especially in Nigeria to release an album with little or no known track on it and that was the risk Korede took.
With 11 new songs, the song title Korede introduced us to the Belloved album and I have to say what a way to kick start the album. The song was produced by Altims which I have to say did a more brilliant work on this album compared to what he did on Reekado Banks album, Korede Bello gave us a brief introduction about his life and where he started his journey. The rating for this song will be 8/10. Baby Fresh also did an amazing work on Oh Baby (Hermosa) and Korede came in strong. I have to be honesty I fell in love with this song after listening to it for the second time and from that moment on I couldn’t get enough of it. The rating would also be 8/10.

Repete is the third track on this album and the second produced by Baby Fresh, not a bad song I must say though Korede was a bit relaxed on this one, you might not fancy this song from the onset but trust me after listening to it for three to four times you would begin to enjoy it. The rating would be 7/10. Don Jazzy did wonders with Butterfly which happens to be the fourth track of the album and any  Korede Bello and Jazzy collaboration has always been a hit and this isn’t an exception. Everything about this song was top notch from the production down to the instrumentals which gave it a very nice highlife feeling. The rating would be 8/10.

Don Jazzy improved on his production skills with Let Him Go and I have to say this might just end up as my best song on this album. The reggae pattern Korede brought on this one was very different and also unique, this song shows how much of an artiste Korede Bello is. I won’t mind a remix with 2baba or Burna Boy. The rating would be 9/10.

Yes I know you might say you were already familiar with this kind of sound from One&Only but Korede Bello was able to funkify his Fuji swag with My People. This is one song I have liked from the onset and credit has to go to Altims for the super production on this song, if I didn’t know better I would argue that this song was recorded over a live drum set, the coordination was very brilliant. You have no choice than to move your body. The rating would be 9/10

If there is one producer that has learnt perfectly from Don Jazzy you can agree with me it is Baby Fresh, If You Smile is another prove of that. A very brilliant highlife sound he gave us on this and Korede Bello killed it with that Yoruba hook. This is a brilliant song, I had this song on massive repeat from the onset, the rating would be 9/10.

When I heard Young Presido, I knew it could only be Don Jazzy that was behind the production, he decided to give Korede a feel of what he gives the Mavin big boys (D’Prince Dr.Sid and Iyanya). There is no doubt Young Presido is another brilliant song you just have to rock to on this album and the rating would be 8/10

Favourtite Song is the only song produced by a non-Mavin member, credits belongs to producer extraordinary Cobhams. When Cobhams is behind a song that song might end up being your favourite song. Korede's vocals were put on test here and I have to say he delivered perfectly well and the rating would be 9/10.

This brilliant album which I have on repeat since the moment I laid my hands on it ended with Ese Baba, a song that gives thanks to God and once a again Baby Fresh was behind the solid production and Korede came through with a more popular chorus at least for the church goers you can relate well with it. Rating would be 9/10.

I have to say for a debut album, Korede Bello has truly raise the bar, he has shown us that the success of an album isn’t about the amount of songs but the quality of the songs and this album is amazing. All in all the general rating for this album would an 9.1/10.
