FIFA will replace Hans-Joachim Eckert and Cornel Borbely, after the pair were removed from their positions The judge and prosecutor who banned some of the biggest names in world football have been removed from their positions by FIFA.
FIFA's ruling council decided today to dispense with the services of German judge Hans-Joachim Eckert and Swiss prosecutor Cornel Borbely. The two men were instrumental in investigating and banning football leaders such as Sepp Blatter and Michel Platini.
The FIFA Council, led by FIFA president Gianni Infantino, is proposing that Eckert and Borbely are replaced by Greek judge Vassilios Skouris and Colombian lawyer Maria Claudia Rojas.
