'Guardians of the Galaxy' Vol. 2 Makes $800 Million At Box Office

In less than a month of its release Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 has racked in over $800 million at the worldwide box office. The totals hit is put at $342.7 million domestically and $454.7 million internationally on Tuesday. 

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 would be the fifth Disney-Marvel title to surpass $800 million, after The Avengers, Avengers: Age of Ultron, Captain America: Civil War and Iron Man 3.

The first Guardians featured a band of misfit superheroes teaming up against evil forces to save the universe. The 2014 film was a relatively unknown property that caught on among audiences on its way to $333 million domestically and $440 million overseas.
