Jose Mourinho says he is pleased
after Manchester United played with confidence during their 4-0
opening weekend victory against West Ham.
Their Premier League campaign started with a bang at Old Trafford, with new striker Romelu Lukaku scoring twice before Anthony Martial and Paul Pogba rounded off the win. Mourinho insists it was a tough match and praised his side for a strong performance that gave United their biggest win in the Premier League for nearly three years.

He said “I don't
think the game was 4-0 but you score the third and you breathe and relax and
play with more confidence. It was a difficult game for us, we didn't start
especially well, maybe we were a bit nervous, but then we had a quality
performance, good personality and word which I like: confidence. The team
played with lots of confidence and even at 2-0 they were confident and kept
playing football. I was happy and it was a very positive performance.”
Manchester United have won more
opening day games in Premier League history than any other side (17) .
