Nemanja Matic has explained why he
joined Manchester United from
Premier League rivals Chelsea. Matic
completed a £40m move to United on Monday.
He
said “I feel great. Manchester United is one of the biggest clubs in the world and I am
very happy because I am now part of this great club, part of this great group, I
am looking forward to start to train with the team and to start to play the
games. As we know, as I said, Manchester is one of the biggest clubs in the
world. Also, my wish was to train with Jose and, of course, when you have a coach like him and a club like
Manchester is, you don't need to think a lot so my decision was very easy. I am
very happy because we will work again together. He is a great coach and, when I
worked with him before, he always took the best from me and I improve if I work
with him, so I am very happy to be again with him, especially in this great
club so I am happy because of that.”
Matic
insists he is in good shape despite missing all of Chelsea's pre-season games. Matic
is looking forward to the UEFA Super Cup against Real Madrid on 8 August, which could be his first United match.
