Dele Alli might not be able to
play England next month’s World Cup Qualifiers but that won’t stop England
manager Gareth Southgate in naming
him in his squad according to Sky Sports news.
The Spurs forward made a one-fingered gesture in England's 2-1 win over Slovakia earlier this month, but is adamant it was directed at teammate Kyle Walker, not an opponent or the referee. Alli is waiting to hear the result of a FIFA disciplinary hearing that started on Wednesday and should conclude on Thursday.
FIFA procedures usually mean the result of any disciplinary action is
published a few days after the hearing, but the FA is understood to have made
special representations to FIFA, requesting it publishes the verdict on Alli
sooner.
