Real Madrid defender Dani Carvajal has been diagnosed with a
viral infection of the heart. The 25-year-old defender is now ruled out
of Sunday's La Liga game with Espanyol
and is also expected to miss Spain's upcoming World Cup qualifying games with
Albania and Israel as his heart condition is monitored.
The La Liga club announced the news on their website with a statement that read “Following tests carried out on Dani Carvajal, he has been diagnosed with a viral pericardium infection. His recovery will continue to be assessed.”

Carvajal has played 167 times for the Spanish
