#AHMusicReview: Reviewing the songs released by African artistes in the last one week

It’s a beautiful Saturday right here in the city of Lagos and it is time for another brand new episode of Absolute Hearts Music Review, the number in Africa. The music scene started pretty dull this week but we were still able to pull out some new songs for you and without further ado here they are;
1.      Paul Play - Radio: Legendary and veteran Nigeria singer Play Paul returns to the music scene after a very long time. Not sure I have much to say than Radio is a classic jam from the legend himself, as always very unique sound, sweet melody and good lyrics. The rating will be 9/10.

2.      Madanon ft. Babes Wodumo x Mampintsha x Dlala Thuk’zin - Usisi Oyedwa: We go all the way to South Africa as we bring you Usisi Oyedwa by Madanon and he features label mate Babes Wodumo and Mampintsha also Dlala Thuk’zin and together they gave us this beautiful groovy sound. The rating will be 8/10.

3.      R2bess - Embassy: Ghanaian duo R2bess are back and this time they serve us with the song titled Embassy. This is another decent track from the duo as their last single titled Plantain Chip is still enjoying massive airplay. Embassy will get an 8/10.

4.      Mr 2kay - Prayer: Our prayers are with Mr 2kay as the Nigerian singer was robbed weeks ago in his hotel room at the Bulkwyld and Breathless event in Eko Hotels. Prayer was supposed to be release towards the end of the year but the singer who is recovering says the ugly incident has led him to release this song, thanking all his fans for their support and saying all they can do now is to pray for him. The Weebeats produced song will have a 9/10, brilliant stuff.

5.      Yemi Alade ft. Falz - Single And Searching: As we anticipate the release of Yemi Alade's third studio album Black Magic, the Mama Africa decides to drop 2 singles to wet our appetite and one of them is this beautiful groovy sound titled Single and Searching featuring Falz and produced by Young D. Young D really killed the production of this song as Yemi and Falz came in strong, the rating will be 9/10.

6.      Sdudla Noma1000 ft. Thulasizwe - Forever: I have to say if you lack patience you won’t listen to this song, the first 59 seconds was pure instrumentals, though I have to say cool instrumentals as it allowed us enjoy the South African sounds infused into the beat. South African Sdudla Noma1000 provides us with a beautifully crafted song titled Forever and on this he features Thulasizwe and the rating will be 9/10.

7.      Lil Kesh – Rora: Kesh is trying to make sure he ends 2017 on a high as he returns with another hit song and as expected Young John is responsible for the production of this. Rora sees Kesh returning to the usual style that we know him for and not the Fake Love kind of style we heard earlier in the year, this might be Kesh's best song this year as the rating will be 9/10.

8.      Nadia Nakai ft. Cassper Nyovest - Naa Meaan: With songs like this you just have to agree with what M.I said about South African rappers on You Rapper Should Fix Up Your Life. This is not just rap but classic hip hop rap as South African female rapper Nadia Nakai went all hard on this dope produced song titled Naa Meaan and Cassper Nyovest did proper justice to the hook also. This is a 10/10 rating song as this will go down as one of the best rap I have heard this year.

9.      Tidinz – Buputia: The young eastern rapper Tidinz is back with another great track titled Buputia and as expected he didn’t disappoint at all. This is one rapper we should watch out for next year that’s if he continues with this fire, Buputia is another decent dance track and the rating will be 9/10.

10.  Ajebutter22 - Wayward: As we also await the release of Ajebutter22's album What Happens In Lagos, he decides to wet our appetite with the brilliant produced track from Makblaze titled Wayward. Ajebutter22 really came through on this song and the production from Makblaze is super dope and the rating will be 10.

11.  Mayorkun - Che Che: As we count down to his concert, Mayour of Lagos, DMW act decides to drop another banger titled Che Che which was produced Kiddominant. This is another decent effort coming off his last single Mama which is still doing well but if you listen to this song well you will hear some familiar line but that not to take anything from this song as it is a pure hit and the rating will be 9/10.

12.  CDQ - Bye Bye Poverty: No doubt CDQ has had a very good year musically and he is not done, though I feel this might be his sign off song for the year. Bye Bye Poverty talks about his desire to ball and I have to say this is decent song and what stood out for me is the instrumentals, the strings on this song is super dope and brain bursting as it reminds me of some Carlos Santa things. The rating will be 9/10.

13.  Sound Sulatn ft. Wizkid x 2baba – Geshomo: Sound Sultan returns with another dance song titled Geshomo which features 2baba x Wizkid and the song was produced by Masterkraft and together they gave us an 8/10.
