I thought I had more time - sacked Swansea manager Paul Clement

Paul Clement was sacked by the Swansea on Wednesday night with the club two points adrift at the bottom of the Premier League, following a 3-1 defeat to Everton on Monday but the former manager has come out to say he believed he had more time.
Speaking prior to his dismissal on Wednesday afternoon, Clement denied he was on the cusp of being sacked and that he expected the club's board to back him in the January window.

He said "I have always had an open dialect with the ownership group here and the chairman - a good relationship, I know what football is about. It is about getting results and winning. I'm sure if I can get the team to do that then I am going to be okay here. The statistics are not very good if you're bottom at Christmas. It is going to be a big ask but the fact that we did it as recent as last season gives you great belief and confidence. We certainly are going to have play better if we're going to get some points on the board and make it realistic that we're going to stay up again.
