Blessing Okagbare qualifies for 100m final at World Championships

Nigeria’s Blessing Okagbare has qualified for the finals of 100m Women’s event at the ongoing IAAF World championships after coming second in her semi-final race behind Jamaican rival, Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce.

Fraser-Pryce won Monday’s semi final race with a time of 10.82secs while Okagbare came in second with a time of 10.89secs.

Okagbare, who is Nigeria’s brightest medal hopeful in Beijing, qualified for Monday’s semi-final after winning her first round heat in 11.07 seconds, one hundreth of a second better than Natasha Morrisson from Jamaica.
