La Liga: Highlights, Fixtures & Table

Valencia secured a much-needed 1-0 win over Granada in La Liga on Friday - their first home victory of the season. Center back Shkodran Mustafi headed in what proved to be the winner in the 26th minute, and goalkeeper Jaume Domenech made the saves his team needed to take the points.
Valencia's disgruntled fans had called for Coach Nuno Espirito Santo to be fired after their last match at the Mestalla, which ended in a draw, and that was followed by a 1-0 defeat at Espanyol on Tuesday.
Despite the win that pushed Valencia into sixth place, applause was mixed with jeers after the final whistle. The goal scorer spoke "I have always believed that we are a team that has to work to win, we aren't a team that wins easily, Today we demonstrated that we are a group." Valencia next game is against Lyon in the Champions League on Tuesday, after losing at home to Zenit St Petersburg in their Champions League opener.
On the other hand Granada have now lost four matches in a row and five of six matches this season, Granada are  in the relegation zone in 18th place. The defender for Granada Ruben Rochina said "The result is unfair because I think we showed we were the better team, hitting the bar and creating more chances". Other matches to be played are:

Real Madrid are looking to earn their fifth league win in a row as they continue their pursuit of a first La Liga title since the 2011/12 campaign when they take on Malaga at the Bernabeu on Saturday evening. A 2-1 win at Athletic Bilbao in midweek took Rafa Benitez's side top of La Liga on goal difference, level on points with Villarreal and Celta Vigo, who thrashed reigning champions Barcelona 4-1. The key to Real's rise to the top of the league table has been the form of striker Karim Benzema. The French forward has scored in five consecutive games and his brace against Bilbao took his season tally to six goals in all competitions. Captain Sergio Ramos, Gareth Bale, Danilo and James Rodriguez all remain doubts for the game despite taking part in training on Friday.
Barcelona coach Luis Enrique believes the 4-1 defeat at Celta Vigo in midweek will serve as a wake-up call for his players as they head into Saturday's home match against Las Palmas.
The Spanish champions return to La Liga action just four days after seeing their perfect start to the campaign halted. The defeat was Barca's worst in the league since May 2008 when they lost by the same scoreline at Real Madrid, saw the Catalan giants drop to fifth in the standings - one point behind leaders Real. Luis Enrique, who had predicted a difficult game at former club Celta, "When a team have played better than you there is nothing much you can say. "I'm not happy to have lost 4-1 and this is something we will analyse, this result will be a good lesson that, in football, it's always very difficult to win. It shows just how difficult La Liga is." There was a shock in La Liga where Barcelona were humbled by a 4-1 defeat by Celta Vigo. It's Barca's first defeat in the league since February. Barca have not kept a clean sheet since a 1-0 victory over Malaga in their league opener, while Luis Enrique is also concerned by his team's lack of precision in front of goal. "We had six or seven chances to score against Celta," he added, the problem is that in the first games of this season we have been struggling to turn those chances into goals." Barca are still without injured goalkeeper Claudio Bravo. Las Palmas travel to the mainland in good form after clinching their first win since gaining promotion to Spain's top flight in Wednesday's 2-0 home triumph over struggling Sevilla. They have collected five points from five games. And are seeking to get at least a point from their match against Bacrcelona. Their coach Herrera told Marca "Saturday's game could be a headache for us considering what happened to Barca in Vigo,". "We have a 10 per cent chance and we must hold on to that".
THE HIGHEST GOALS SCORERS IN THE LEAGUE ARE:

C. Ronaldo Real Madrid 5goals
