Anthony Joshua Showdown Two Victories Away Say David Haye Ahead Of Comeback

35 years old David Haye believes he is two victories away from a fight with Anthony Joshua as he prepares to return to the ring after a three-and-a-half year absence when he takes on Australian Mark de Mori on January 16.

“For me it's about getting back in the ring and showing what I can do and then giving the fans as many big fights as possible, I'm not targeting any belt, I'm targeting Mark de Mori. Once I beat him I will look at the landscape and it may have changed once again. Deontay Wilder is fighting on the same night and the vacant IBF title is also being contested. I can't be aiming for anyone in particular because I'm not even mandatory yet. The one thing I do know is that Tyson Fury doesn't want to fight me so that puts a dampener on the WBO and WBA titles. Will he win the rematch with Wladimir Klitschko? I assume so, because he won the first fight easily in my opinion so he should be able to do it again. The heavyweight division is a complicated one so I'm going to take it one fight at a time. A fight with Anthony Joshua is one the British public would love to see later on in 2016. Eddie Hearn made a lot of noise about a big summer showdown. We both have to have a couple of fights before that can realistically happen. I have to get De Mori out of the way and maybe have another fight in March, April or May but then we can sit down and talk about a big showdown. But that's totally dependent on the route he wants to go down. He might be looking at trying to gatecrash one of the titles which you could understand. Would that fight be bigger than a fight with myself? I don't think so. I'm going to sit back and enjoy the ride. The right path will present itself when it's ready”. Haye said.

Joshua extended his winning streak to 15 with a seventh-round knockout of Dillian Whyte earlier this month and this made Haye believe that the 26-year-old is more than just a knockout artist.
