Bar Refaeli Arrested for Alleged Tax Evasion

Celebrity clothes-wearer Refaeli has been arrested and questioned for alleged tax evasion, according to reports.

According to the Israel Tax Authority, Refaeli is suspected of not reporting “over a million shekels” in perks, including luxury apartments and cars. She’s also accused of lying about her residency to avoid paying taxes on income earned abroad as she and her mother Zipora were arrested. A Tel Aviv court ordered the pair’s arrest and release on Thursday, following a raid on their home on Wednesday. Both were ordered to surrender their passports and to not leave Israel without permission for 180 days.

According to the Tax Authority, Refaeli and her mother are believed to have received “celebrity discounts” that were not reported as income. A representative for Refaeli has not yet responded concerning this issue.
