Diamond will report to jail in January to begin
serving his four-month sentence in connection with a bar fight earlier this
year after dropping his appeal in the case. 
The actor which is best known for playing Screech
on Saved by the Bell,
appeared in court Wednesday in Ozaukee County, Wisconsin, where he withdrew his
appeal of a disorderly conduct conviction, local stations and he will begin
serving his sentence, which includes work release, on Jan. 15. 
The 38 years old actor was also convicted of carrying a concealed weapon. He
received 60 days in prison on each misdemeanor charge. He was found not guilty
of the more serious felony charge of recklessly endangering public safety.  The incident occurred last Christmas Day in
the Grand Avenue Saloon in Port Washington, Wisconsin. Diamond stabbed a man
after the actor and his girlfriend allegedly had a confrontation with him. 
“I sincerely apologize to everyone
involved, this was the single most terrifying experience of my life … This is
all I've been able to think about for the last six months” Diamond said at
his sentencing in June.
