Injury Worries For Wenger

Arsene Wenger is a worried man, losing ten of his regular starters, and we are not even half way into the season, he might as well kick is title hope goodbye.

Santi Cazorla has reportedly been ruled out for three months with a ligament injury. The Spanish midfielder limped off the pitch at the end of Arsenal's 1-1 draw against Norwich at the weekend. Cazorla is expected to be out of action for at least three months after suffering serious ligament damage.  Arsenal started the season in fine fashion, and as they topped the table in late October were being talked of as genuine title contenders but just a few weeks later, their campaign appears to be in tatters with an injury list that is quite frighteningly bad.

Many fans have reacted angrily to the Cazorla news because of Wenger's admission that the player had felt something at the start of the second half, but stayed on the pitch despite playing on one leg.  Other players on the injury list are Alexis Sanchez who suffered a hamstring injury and Laurent Koscielny a back injury, There is a chance Koscielny could return for the Gunners next match against Sunderland at home on Saturday but Sanchez will be out for 3weeks.

In total, the Gunners have 10 players out injured, in a long list that also includes Jack Wilshere and Danny Welbeck.

Here is the full list of the players, their type of injury and expected return date

Meanwhile, former Arsenal player Gilberto Silva told Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger he is ready if needed to replace  the injured Francis Coquelin, Gilberto who is 39, made 237 appearances for the Gunners between 2002 and 2008 and returned to north London to watch his former side beat Dinamo Zagreb 3-0 at the end of November.
