Ben Carson's Campaign Announces Campaign Enhancements After Three Top Aides Quit

The campaign train of Ben Carson seems to be coming apart at the seams as two of his top aides quit today effective immediately
Campaign Manager Barry Bennett and Communications Director Doug Watts announced their resignation in a statement to reporters. “We respect the candidate and we have enjoyed helping him go from far back in the field to top tier status, touting the $23 million haul the campaign collected in the fourth quarter. We are proud of our efforts for Dr. Carson and we wish him and his campaign the best of luck” Watts wrote. According to reporting from a Des Moines Register reporter Deputy Campaign Manager Lisa Coen also quit.

Several hours after the resignations the Carson campaign cheerfully announced campaign enhancements which will shift the campaign into a higher gear, bringing the unique qualifications of Dr. Ben Carson into even better focus for the American people,' a release from spokeswoman Deana Bass said. The campaign moved retired general Bob Dees, who was Carson's foreign policy adviser, into the role of campaign chairman. A senior strategist for Carson, Ed Brookover, will now serve as the campaign manager.

“As we enter a new phase of the campaign cycle, it is necessary to invigorate my campaign with a strategy that more aggressively shares my vision and world-view with the American people. I commend Barry Bennett and Doug Watts for their efforts to help me share my vision for America” Carson said.
