Kelly Clarkson is opening up about her own time working
with music producer Dr. Luke as the Piece by Piece songstress
claims she was forced to work with him.
The famous producer, who is embroiled in a legal battle with Kesha,
who claims he sexually assaulted her while recording music together. Dr. Luke,
whose real name is Lukasz Gottwald, worked with the Clarkson on
her hits Since U Been Gone and My Life Would Suck Without You. She said
“the last time I worked with him I got
blackmailed by my label, they were like, 'We will not put your album out if you
don't do this.' It was really hard for me. I try to make the best of the
situation”.
Even though she admits he is good at what he does, she also explained that
working with him put a strain on her given his negative attitude toward
artists. He's not a good person, to me.
We've clashed before. He's difficult to work with, he's kind of demeaning”
she said. Despite her own issues with Luke, Clarkson clarified that she never
experienced any of what Kesha alleges in her lawsuit, saying he never did anything like that to me.
At the end of the day, however, Clarkson worked with Luke because she didn't
want to hurt everyone else involved. She said “We have a whole crew to support and you know we have our whole touring
crew, people that depend on us for their livelihood. Sometimes you have to
make decisions that you just have to swallow that pill”.
