Production on Maze Runner: The Death Cure has ground
to a halt after lead star Dylan O’Brien
suffered a serious injury on set, 20th Century Fox has revealed. The incident
occurred in Vancouver, Canada, and though there’s no mention of the severity of
the injury from Fox, the studio did release an official statement to confirm
that filming for Wes Ball’s action sequel will be shutdown until further
notice. “Dylan O’Brien was injured yesterday
while filming ‘Maze Runner: The Death Cure’ in Vancouver, Canada. He was
immediately transferred to a local hospital for observation and treatment.
Production on the film will be shut down while he recovers. Our thoughts go out
to Dylan for a full and speedy recovery.”
Slated to release on February 17, 2017, the jury’s still out on whether
today’s incident will impact Fox’s launch plans for The Maze Runner: The
Death Cure. As always, you’ll know as soon as we do, and our thoughts
are with Dylan O’Brien in light of the accident.
