Jennifer Lopez Does a Dramatic Reading of Sir Mix-A-Lot's Baby Got Back

Jennifer Lopez known for her booty-ful figure, recently gave a dramatic reading of a rap she was born to recite Sir Mix-A-Lot's 1992 cult hit Baby Got Back. J.Lo performed part of the track in a video released Wednesday by W magazine, which features her on the cover of its May 2016 issue, turning it from a playful party tune to a PSA about female body image.

Lopez read earnestly “Some brothers want to play that hard role / And tell you that the butt ain't gol'. So they toss it and leave it / And I pull up quick to retrieve it / So Cosmo says you're fat / Well I ain't down with that / 'Cause your waist is small and your curves are kickin' / And I'm thinkin' bout stickin”.

Baby Got Back was released when the pop star was a Fly Girl dancer on the sketch comedy series In Living Color. Sir Mix-A-Lot was reportedly inspired by Lopez's look and performances on the series when he came up with Baby Got Back. Lopez had spoken to the outlet about body issues and had during her interview ordered a healthy, hearty lunch prosciutto panini.  The New York City native said that when she first came to Los Angeles, someone told her she would be a star because of her tiny ankles and wrists.

She also talked about ex-husband Marc Anthony with whom she shares 8-year-old twins, and beau Casper Smart. He and Lopez have dated on and off since she and Anthony called it quits.
