With the
interview coming on the heels of his fashionable evening beside his wife Kim
Kardashian, Kanye also got to chatting about their relationship and his
tendency to go above and beyond when defending her. Discussing his Twitter feud
with Wiz Khalifa at the beginning of this year, he said, “You know how you would feel if someone was
talking about your wife. Did I take it too far? You know what? I'm from 79th
Street Chicago. I can't say that if someone says 'F you,' I can't say I'm not
gonna say the exact same thing back. On a
more serious note, I
really want to stress the amount of respect that I have for parents. There is
no concept of anyone beating up on someone else's child or that type of
concept. So every day I feel more deeply, deeply, deeply apologetic about that
concept, because I only want to put out positive, positive, positive concepts”
Kanye also explained why he's so defensive over his wife, saying “she broke boundaries with fashion where designers weren't trying to make clothes with women with shape, and now they're all about embracing and empowering women. She's empowering women in a matriarch society where women can make money. Like when she said, 'OK my husband might have invested everything he had into fashion, everything he had into creativity for breaking boundaries, but I put the money in the account. All of those statements, means that can't nobody ever disrespect my wife, period”.
