Quadri's
points rose from 2305 in August to 2457 points to become the first player in
Africa to be rated in the top 25 in the world. Quadri got to the quarter-finals
at the Rio 2016 Olympics before losing to China's world No.1 Ma Long. Veteran Nigeria table tennis
star, Segun Toriola, was rewarded
for his effort in Rio as the seven-time Olympian moved from 120 to 106 in the
rankings.
Meanwhile,
Nigeria’s duo of Edem Offiong and Olufunke Oshonaike were not that lucky
in the latest rankings with Offiong dropping from 120 to 129 while Oshonaike
dropped from 241 to 251. Also in the latest ranking, Olympic and world
champion, Ma Long and his compatriot Shiwen
Liu remain number one ranked male and female players in the world.
