One Year After Near-Fatal Overdose, Lamar Odom Checks Himself Into Rehab

 

Lamar Odom is ready to get some professional help. The former Los Angeles Lakers player recently admitted himself into rehab in San Diego, Calif. A source said “It was his own decision. He wanted to work on his mental and physical health for the next chapter of his life, he has not fallen off the wagon, but he understands the importance of maintaining his sobriety.”

The decision comes more than a year after the former NBA player experienced a near-fatal overdose in Las Vegas Back in October 2015, Lamar became unconscious at a brothel in Crystal, Nev. An ambulance took him to a nearby hospital where doctors found a cocktail of drugs in his system.

While Khloe Kardashian recalled the moment when she was told he only had four hours to live, Lamar defied friends, family and doctor's expectations and was able to move to a private rehabilitation center closer to Calabasas.
