A South African King Buyelekhaya Dalindyebo has been sentenced to 12 years of prison after he was found guilty of several charges, including arson, assault and kidnapping by The Supreme Court of Appeals.
King Dalindyebo had already been sentenced
to 15 years in prison after a court found him guilty in 2009, but he approached
the Supreme Court of Appeals to dispute the sentence but now the king would definitely
be going to jail after he was found guilty of the charges he was accused of. This
case which includes kidnapping a woman and her six children, setting their home
ablaze and beating a young person to death happened almost two decades ago.
The case had
already been delayed several times, with the defendant changing lawyers 11
times during the course of the trial, leading to over 30 postponements. Despite
all the delays, however, it appears that justice has now been served.
