Why The Noise About Sanusi's New Wife?

Sometimes last week the whole twitter world went gaga because the Emir of Kano and former CBN governor Emir Muhammadu Sanusi got married to an 18 year old girl. Now my question is this “what is wrong in what he did?”

I mean looking at the legal laws of Nigeria, he hasn’t done anything wrong, he married an adult according to the law because once you are 18 you are an adult, so why were people saying all sort?

Before you all start throwing stones at me, I know it is probably because of the age difference that's why there was serious fuss about the secret wedding but let me ask this question how wide is the age difference self? The age difference is 36 years because Sanusi is just 54. I can bet you he is even younger than some of the sugar daddies some of these other young girls’ dey carry?

Let's be honest, he isn’t the first or even the only person to have done such, marry someone that is very much more younger, a good example is the governor of Edo State Adams Oshomole who is 63 and married a 29 year old girl, the age difference between them is 34 years, just two short of Sanusi and wife. 

Now I know you might say the girl Adams married is more matured than Sanusi's wife but yet again let me remind you just in case you have forgotten when Kanu Nwankwo got married his wife was just 18 years old same as Sanusi wife. If you are going to crucify Sanusi then also add Chief Dr. Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu who got married to 26 years old Frances Chinonyerem Enweren last year when he was 72 years of age now that is even 46 years age difference.

What I am saying is this, before you throw stone and call Emir Sanusi all sort of names, look around to see if he is the only one guilty of the crime, wait! did I just say crime? I stand to be corrected, Sanusi hasn’t committed any crime in marrying an 18 years old girl because according to all laws both legal and religion (Islam) he married an adult. So please let stop the whole noise. Thank you.
