#UPDATE On FESTAC Robbery

Since 8am , today , 13th October 2015, Festac town residents have been under seige in their respective houses and place of safety as unknown gunmen suspected to be Armed robbers have been robbing banks at the 4th avenue / 5th avenue axis of Festac town in Lagos state. Serious Gunshots was heard by residents and it has been scary .  Some said First City Monument Bank and Diamond Bank are affected and even bank customers were trapped, as the banks are on the same road close by each other.

Residents close to the scene reported that the gunshots were sporadic and that the scene of the battle is the 5th avenue in the suburb.

According to eyewitnesses, about fifteen gunmen besieged the bank on 4th Avenue and have been shooting sporadically into the air.

There has also been serious gunfire exchange between police and the unknown gunmen. Robbers are said to be using dynamites and AK 47S. 

Readers are advised to avoid 4th and 5th avenues and neighboring routes at this time; in order not to get caught in the crossfire. A woman shot dead and also a security man leaving some others injured!

The armed robbers came in through the canal with a speed boat and also escaped via the same canal with unverified amount of cash.

The armed robbers comprised 15 armed with 3 women included. They all wore army uniforms.
