Obama Take Motorcade Back White House

The streets of Washington D.C. came to standstill as snow and icy weather crippled traffic in the city and the President wasn’t able to avoid the gridlock as his motorcade had to slip and slide its way to the White House after his helicopter, Marine One, was grounded at Andrews Air Force Base.

Obama had jetted into the base on Air Force One after spending the day visiting Detroit but after safe landing at Andrews Air Force Base and getting comfortable inside his car, it took his motorcade more than an hour and 40 minutes to reach a snow covered White House. Many of the roads around the capitol were covered in ice and snow, making driving conditions treacherous and causing huge tailbacks.

The SUVs travelling alongside the president were said to be skidding along with slippery streets at one point, one slid into a kerb but despite the conditions, Obama made it safely back to a picturesque looking White House, which had a light dusting of snow covering the front lawn.
