Once again it
Friday and the weekend is about to start, I hope you all had a great week? I am
very happy with this week review not only because we have so many great songs
but also because due to popular demand we have extend our rates beyond Nigeria.
That's right people, starting from today we shall be rating the song of any known
African artiste in as much as they have been able to win the hearts of Nigerians.
So before I go into the review proper remember that Absolute Hearts Weekly Music Review is now airing on BCP Radio by 4PM every Friday and also the power to choose the Song of the Week is now in your hands all you have to do is comment with the song you think should be the song of the week. You can also be part of the live broadcast by simply logging on to https://www.blackcarpetproduction.com/listen-to-bcp-radio/ and you would be with us live. Without any further ado here are the songs we have for you;
1. Ice Prince- Seasons: Hey guess who is bringing some real rap back, yes people it is Ice Prince. Seasons is a top notch song, I don’t believe I would be saying this but Ice did surprise me this track. I thought we had lost this part of Ice but I guess he was just waiting for the right season. This is a perfectly created song, special thanks to illkeyz and Drumroll for the wonderful production they did on this song. I rate this song 9/10.
2. Banky W- Made For You: Mr capable is back and how easy to make a sweet come back if not releasing a sweet love song in the month of love. If you are truly in love and you want to show it, this song is that song that you should dedicated to that special person. Though I have a little problem with the production of the song, the instrumental sounds like Flavour's Black is Beautiful but that is not to say Masterkraft didn't do well on this track. I rate this song 9/10.
3. Black Reverendz ft Lil Kesh- Ayangba Girls Are Dangerous Remix: I think I have to also make a return to the music industry because a lot of people are returning and yes people Black Reverendz are back. To announce their return Black Reverendz serves us with the remix of their greatest hit ever Ayangba and believe it or not this song is still a hit and who else can give the song more street acceptability if not Kesh. Good production by B Bamks and my rating would be 8/10.
4. 2Baba - Officially Blind: It seems this year would be 2Baba’s year has he drops his second official single. This beautiful love song was produced by Spellz and I am sure I don’t have to spell it out that 2Baba did perfect justice on this track. This is the kind of song that makes me want to fall in love.. I rate the song 9/10.
5. Patoranking- Another Level: First of let me say a wonderful production from Wizzypro. Patoranking was truly on another level on this song, from the chorus to the verses even the lyrical content everything about this song is dope. I rate this song 9/10.
6. Praiz ft Jesse Jagz X Stonebwoy- Body Hot: This is a decent song with a very cool instrumental and the production credit goes to Gospelonthebeat. Praiz did well with the chorus, I was impressed though this song isn't an instant hit but with a good song and with time it would sink in. I rate this song 7/10
7. Ruggedman ft Olamide- Seyi Shay: Not the kind of collaboration I was expecting but this is not a bad effort. Ruggedman is a true professional in this game and he once again showed it in this song, the way he blended into this song was cool and of course the production is top notch and the credit goes to Tyrone. Rate this song 7/10. The question I just want to ask is this 'is Seyi Shay's waist that bad?
8. K9- Oyi’m: K9 is back again and this time around he is also responsible for the production of this song. This is another beautiful love song and I must say I really like the chorus and the production of the song. I rate the 7/10
9. Koker- Kolewerk: Mr. Do Something is back and this time, he really did something with this beautiful song produced by Reinhard. Very nice concept and a very catchy chorus and I for see the word Kolewerk becoming the new slang pretty soon. I rate this song 6/10.
10. Blackmagic- Wonder: I always like it when artistes stick to their normal style every now and then because that is when they bring the best out themselves. This song is a typical kind of Blackmagic song and just as expected he killed it. If you fell in love with Repete than you would also appreciate this one. This song is produced by Xela and I rate this song 8/10.
11. Drammy Krane ft Olamide- Solo: Finally the Dammy Krane I fell in love with is back and this time around he teamed up with street lamba king Olamide. This song was produced by the wicked produced Young John and I must say it very groovy. Though it seems like I heard more of Olamide voice more than that of Dammy but anyway this song would definitely put Dammy back on track. I rate this song 8/10.
12. Fuse ODG ft Shatta Wale - Laugh Out Loud: This is very nice song and I must say I like the content of this song especially the chorus, very dope. The Azonto like beat was done by Ghana producer Killbeatz and he featured fellow Ghanaian artiste Shatta Wale, who is also winning the hearts of many Nigerians at the moment. I rate this song 8/10
13. Ms Chief Ika Meji (Peace Sign): I must this girl has really impress me which is something that is hard to do because I really don’t get impressed by female artistes but Ms Chief is making a strong case. The rapper and singer serves us with this dope track titled Ika Meji and it is produced by the ever Samibond. I rate this song 8/10.
14. Omar Sterling ft Mugeez- Hello Baby: Well together these two are known as R2bees but when they are working sole one is Omar Sterling and the other is Mugeez. Ever since their breakthrough song, Wande Coal's Kiss Your Hand, these Ghanaian artiste have won the hearts of many Nigerians as they have done collaborations with the likes of Wizkid and Davido just to mention a few. This song Hello Baby was produced by Killbeatz and Omar Sterling and Mugeez did what they know how to do best they killed it. This song is a sole project of Omar Sterling and I rate it 8/10.
