#AHAlbumReview: Album Review of 'EL Hadj' By Reminisce

August 29th 2016 was the date Reminisce dropped his fourth studio album titled El Hadj but I have been following the progress of the album since I heard the song Poison. When I listened to Poison, I knew deep within that Reminisce's next project was going to be deep and while I was still on the lookout on what next, I heard Kpono, another typical Alaga Ibile raw song.
Other songs like Owo Re, Asalamalakun and Nobody came out before the album dropped but the moment I knew El Hadj was going to be in contention for the Best Rap Album for the Year was when Asalamalakun came out. After l listen to this song immediately I knew Reminisce was up to something great with his next album, from the production to the verses and the chorus of that song, I knew when it comes to rap this year Baba Hafusa was the artiste to point fingers at.

Nobody (ft 2Baba) produced by TXMO is my best song on the album and for me this is the best rap song I have heard this year. Yes, there have been many rap songs but Nobody stands out in all ramification. This song would also go down as one of the greatest songs of our time and big credit must go to 2Baba for making that song an evergreen song as the rating is 10/10.

I have said it that the best hip hop producer in this country is and still remains Sossick and that is another thing that makes this album one of the best rap album you would hear this year. Songs like Ibadi, Where I Come, Larger Than Life (ft Sojay), Olohun and I Remember were all the songs Sossick produced on this album which made him the producer with the highest songs produced on the album. The rating for all these songs are nothing less than 8/10 and honestly I still find it hard to pick my favourite amongst these songs.
Kako Bi Chicken introduced us to the deadly combination between Baba Hafusa and Sarz and from that moment onward every song Sarz has gone on to produce for Reminisce has been a hit back to back. Asalamalakun and I E N B G (If E Nobi God ft Mr. Eazi) where the two songs Sarz produced on this album and I don't need to talk about Asalamalakun (9/10) again you already know my take on that. I E N B G is another great song on this album and as expected the Nigerian/Ghanaian rave of the moment Mr. Eazi made the song eazi to love and the rating for this song would be an 8/10.

Others songs on the album were produced by individual producers and I must say they gave it their best, songs like Konsignment (produced by Jomane), 1 4 D R ( One For The Road ft Solidstar produced by PBanks) Ori (produced by TSpize), Telephone (ft Olamide produced by Pheelz), Simpleboy (ft 9ice produced by Tyce) just but to mention a few are other songs that made this album a great body of work and all these songs have a rating of nothing less than 8/10. The only song that didn't meet my expectation is Owo Re ( produced by Camo Blaiz), the chorus for me was the down fall of the song and it is the only song on the album that has an averaging rating of 5/10.

El Hadj is the best album by Reminisce so far in terms of sound, delivery and lyrics and if you are a true fan of Baba Hafusa you would agree that this is more like an upgraded version of the Alaga Ibile album which was more Hip Hop than Baba Hafusa, and if you liked Alaga Ibile then wait till you listen to El Hadj. The rating for this 16 tracks album would be 9/10 and take this from me if this album doesn’t win any award this year then ojoro ti wo (ojoro has entered).
