Nwankwo Kanu Scores Hat-Trick

 

Nigerian legend Nwankwo Kanu rolled back the years with a hat-trick as Arsenal legends saw off AC Milan legends 4-2 at the Emirates on Saturday. A sell-out crowd were in north London to see their Gunners favourites, including Robert Pires, Freddie Ljungberg, Emmanuel Petit and Nigel Winterburn, managed by Arsene Wenger for the match in aid of The Arsenal Foundation.

Nigerian Kanu broke the deadlock on 27 minutes, climbing highest to nod home Petit's cross. Pires got on the scoresheet himself from Ljungberg's cross, a partnership which helped Arsenal to the Premier League title in 2002 and 2004.  Jens Lehmann saved a late penalty from Vieri, but the Italian knocked home the rebound to complete the afternoon's scoring.

The match raised £1m for The Arsenal Foundation.
