England manager Sam Allardyce fulfilled the wishes of the Slovakia team's kitman following their World Cup qualifying win in Trnava. Martin Bohunicky, who also looks after the strips for local club Spartak Trnava, left a note for the Three Lions boss in his office at the Stadion Antona Malatinskeho, asking him for mementos from the England team.
Allardyce whose side won 1-0 thanks to Adam Lallana's stoppage-time winner, duly obliged by giving him Raheem Sterling's shirt and Wayne Rooney's captain's armband. The note, for which Bohunicky needed his friend to help with the English, read: “Dear Mr. Allardyce, I'm kitman of FC Spartak Trnava and I want ask you about one jersey of England National Team. I hope that will be possible. If you can give me one jersey, please put on the table. This is my office. Thank you very much for fulfill my wish. Best regards, Martin Bohunicky.”
After receiving the gifts, Bohunicky told local media: “I cannot describe my feelings. I knew that the manager of England would stay in my office, so I decided to leave the letter on the pin board and my friend helped me to write the short letter. After the English team left, I went to my office with a bit of hope. I opened the door and found the jersey of Sterling with the captain's armband of Rooney.”
