We Need To Stay Consistent

Alan Pardew has challenged Crystal Palace to produce a consistent run of results after beating Stoke 4-1 on Sunday. James Tomkins, Scott Dann, James McArthur and Andros Townsend scored in a convincing victory for Palace at Selhurst Park. Palace have now won back-to-back games for the first time this year, having started the season with successive defeats.

He said “This team has changed drastically in the summer, we knew we had to do that, It's difficult to change a team and change the style a bit. It was a nice rubber stamp today. This was the end game with what we have been trying to do and now it needs to turn into consistency. If we can produce that level of performance more often than not we will have a good season.”

The only negatives for Palace were the late goal conceded and injuries to Tomkins and Joe Ledley. Pardew said he was unsure how long Tomkins, who was taken off at half-time, would be out. He said “It's such a shame to lose him, he has just hurt his knee. We hope it's not too serious, It shows we have great professionalism in the background because Damien [Delaney] came on and we didn't look any different. It was a solid performance, it was a shame they scored but I can't lean on a negative because we were terrific.”
