After Being Beaten Up By Fans, Coach Henrik Larsson Resigns

Henrik Larsson has resigned from his role as head coach of Helsingborg after he and his son Jordan were attacked by fans following the club's relegation from the Swedish top flight on Sunday.
Masked supporters invaded the pitch and demanded Jordan's shirt after a 3-2 aggregate defeat to Halmstads a result which sealed Helsingborg's relegation from the Allsvenskan. After being forced to remove his shirt, the 19-year-old appeared to be punched by a fan, while others threw chairs and flags at both Jordan and his father.

Helsingborg announced on Wednesday that Henrik Larsson had decided to step down from his role at the club after the incident.

Club director Mats-Ola Schulze said “Myself, the board, Henrik Larsson and the rest of the leadership team, together with the players, in solidarity bear the responsibility for this relegation. We are obviously very grateful for the financial solution. I, together with the board, want to thank Henrik for the comprehensive restructuring that has been done in the football organisation during 2015 and 2016.”
