Arsenal star Alex Iwobi has modelled the new Super Eagles strip the team will
formally unveil on Saturday when they face Algeria in a World Cup
qualifier in Uyo. Although the all-green jersey was used by the U-23s at
the Rio 2016 Olympics in August, it was not properly launched.
Even after
the new strip made its debut in Rio, the Eagles and other national teams
reverted to the old jersey for subsequent matches, including Super Eagles' Africa
Cup of Nations qualifier against Tanzania in September. However, the
Nigeria Football Federation are now ready to properly launch the new strip and
Iwobi, 20, has been chosen as the face of the new design.
The NFF
tweeted on Thursday “@NGSuperEagles striker @alexiwobi Super pose in our
new @nikesoccer home kit. #NGAALG #SoarSuperEagles. Our National Team home kits
available for purchase at @Nike Shops nationwide. #SoarSuperEagles #NGA.”
