Lindsay
Lohan really wants to make Mean
Girls 2, It’s safe to say things
haven’t necessarily been ideal for the young starlet as of late, but she’s
working on turning things around. Notably, by hoping she’ll return to her
former glory, found in the 2004 high school comedy Mean Girls.
It’s not merely that she’s crossing her
fingers wishing it’ll happen; she actually wrote a treatment for the sequel and
wants original screenwriter Tina Fey
to sign on. Sitting down for a CNN Facebook Live interview, Lohan revealed her
intentions with the project. She said “I have been trying so hard to do a Mean Girls 2. It is
not in my hands. I know that Tina Fey and Lorne Michaels and all of Paramount
are very busy. I will keep forcing it and pushing it on them until we do it … I
would love to have Jamie Lee Curtis and Jimmy Fallon in the movie. I’ve already
written a treatment for it, so I just need a response.”
A treatment is the first draft of a script, used as an
outline for the eventual screenwriters to map out the story that rolls before
cameras. It marks Lohan’s first stab at screenwriting and it’s got us curious
to see what she’s cooked up. This actually isn’t the first time the actress has
mentioned potentially doing a sequel. She told Time Out London in 2014 that she’d spoken with Fey
about making another film in the past. Of course, the actress/writer/producer
already has more than a few projects on her plate, notably as co-showrunner on
Netflix’s Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt,
so we’re not sure if she’d be up for joining Lohan here.
