Anthony Nwakaeme Set For Eagles Call-Up

Anthony Nwakaeme of Hapoel Be’er Sheva has been called up to the Super Eagles squad to face Cameroon in a 2018 World Cup qualifiers matchday 3 clash in September. Super Eagles coach Gernot Rohr is expected to release his squad for the crucial game this week.
Nwakaeme has been in blistering form for his Israeli side, scoring five goals and providing three assists in six appearances this term. The 28-year-old is expected to be joined in the team by Mikel Obi and Odion Ighalo who will be making a return just as Chelsea star Victor Moses.

Other players expected to be named in the squad for the crucial game are regular call- ups John Ogu, Wilfred Ndidi, Wiliam Troost Ekong, Leon Balogun, Elderson Echiejile and Ogenyi Onazi.
Nigeria lead Group B with six points, four ahead of second placed Cameroon who they host on 1 September at the Godswill Akpabio Stadium, Uyo. A win for Nigeria will further boost the Super Eagles chances of qualifying for the 2018 FIFA World Cup to be held in Russia.
