So far, the incumbent Governor Olusegun Mimiko of the Labour Party is leading in 12 Local Government Areas of the state with overall total of 210,368 votes.
His closest rival, Rotimi Akeredolu of the Action Party of Nigeria (ACN) won in two Local Government Areas, polling a total of 124,779 votes, while Olusola Oke of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) won in one Local Government, polling a total 116,365 votes.
INEC returning officer in Ondo State began the announcement of the results some minutes before 3:55 a.m. today and ended it around 4:30 a.m.
He said the announcement of the concludingpart of the results would resume at 10.00 a.m. However, the results released thus far showed that Governor Mimiko is the likely winner of the election.
