Premier League Matches For Week 10

The English premier League week 9 matches produced some outstanding results for some teams which were in dying need of it, it saw Chelsea, Newcastle, Manchester United resurrect from the dead. Here are the results of the week 9 matches

Spurs 0 - 0 Liverpool 12:45
Jurgen Klopp got on his Liverpool debut on a draw against high flying Tottenham who are on a high as have accumulated 11 points from a possible 15 points and it won for their coach, the manager of the month of September after they wipe Manchester City, they were unable to replicate such form against Liverpool as they were out played by the Reds. Liverpool are having a bad timing with injuries with about seven of their first team players out injured with Sturridge joining the list on Friday as he got injured during training which ruled him out of the match, he was replaced by Origi who gave a good account of himself as he was close to scoring as he hit the crossbar.

Chelsea 2 - 0 Aston Villa 15:00
Jose Mourinho's men came back from the international break after with a home win against Aston Villa, It's Chelsea's second home win of the season and only their third in the opening nine games, but it's a vital result for Mourinho's men as they look to kick-start their campaign. Diego Costa scored one in the first half and forced an home goal in the second half from Villa's Hutton. Chelsea kept a clean sheet for only the second time this season, after the match Mourinho says "Diego Costa is a great leader, strong influence and wishes more of his Chelsea players would follow his example. Costa was terrific. He set the tone for Saturday’s victory over Aston Villa because he worked hard, battled and scrapped for the three points." He further praised him for not reacting to Villa’s wind-ups but also suggested the perpetrators should also find themselves in trouble and it is time their dirty tricks were shown on TV.
“I’m pleased he didn’t react,” said Mourinho. “But I would be even happier if the people who find his hypothetical, or real, negative moments were honest the other way, and show and show and show.
“He will get that until the moment people point the finger at them and show the images, re-show the images and have the top pundits speaking about it.“At this moment, he is the bad guy and if you are telling me here that this happened and are already saying that in the next matches they will do the same it is something that is easy to understand. If it’s easy to understand, then show.
“Of course we need him. When you lose him we’re a bit in trouble because the team always depends on a striker like him, from a character and personality like him. So when we don’t, of course we miss him.”
Costa was probably the difference between the two teams. His desire and determination were outstanding. Villa were the better team in the first half but all that changed when keeper Brad Guzan made a terrible clearance which Willian intercepted and gave a pass to Costa to score the first goal.

Crystal Palace 1 - 3 West Ham 15:00

Man City 5 - 1 Bournemouth 15: 00

Even without the injured Sergio Aguero, who scored five goals in 22 minutes last time out against Newcastle United, City showed no sign of bluntness in attack, with England winger Sterling starring with his first-half treble and Wilfried Bony scoring twice.
Bony, who replaced Aguero up front, set up Sterling for the opening goal before capitalising on a mistake from Adam Federici to add one of his own in the 11th minute.
AFC Bournemouth pulled one back through Glenn Murray in the 22nd minute, but Sterling was on target again before the half-hour mark.
City, who were also without injured duo Aleksandar Kolarov and David Silva and had captain Vincent Kompany among their substitutes, hit the bar through Kevin De Bruyne before Sterling made the most of some poor defending to complete his hat-trick on the stroke of half-time.
Manuel Pellegrini's side took their foot off the gas in the second half, but Bony rounded off a comprehensive victory with a smart finish in the 89th minute.

Southampton 2 - 2 Leicester 15:00
Southampton surrendered a two-goal lead which they had in the first half  to the Foxes. As Jamie Vardy completed a brace in injury time to continue his excellent goalscoring form.
Southampton boss Ronald Koeman was disappointed with his side’s failure to see out the game against a Leicester side which he rates highly. He further said “To be two-nil up at half time, you don't expect not to win the game,” he told Southampton's YouTube channel. “I think that finally it's a deserved point for Leicester because they made it very difficult today.
“I think that in the last 30 minutes it looked like they were more fresh and had more belief in [getting] a good result today than Southampton.” Jamie Vardy has now taken his goals tally to 10goals in 9matches.  The England striker had already become the fourth Englishman to score in six successive Premier League games this century joining the likes of Michael Owen, James Beattie and Daniel Sturridge.

West Brom 1 - 0 Sunderland 15:00
Sunderland made a losing start under Sam Allardyce as Saido Berahino’s second-half winner gave West Bromwich Albion a 1-0 win in the Barclays Premier League.
Allardyce took charge at Sunderland last week after Dick Advocaat left the club, Sunderland are languishing at the bottom of the table with just three points from their opening nine matches of the season.
Sunderland appeared more solid in the clash against West Brom,  but their hopes of a maiden Barclays Premier League victory were ended by a handling error from Costel Pantilimon. The Romania goalkeeper failed to control a ball from West Brom midfielder Chris Brunt in the 54th minute, presenting Berahino with the simple task of tapping into an empty net.

Watford 0 - 3 Arsenal 17:30
Arsenal moved back into second place in the Barclays Premier League as goals from Alexis Sanchez, Olivier Giroud and Aaron Ramsey secured a 3-0 win at Watford. Ozil again gave an assist four minutes later, cutting back for Olivier Giroud to double the Gunners' advantage. Aaron Ramsey made it three on 74 minutes, hitting a shot into the net after a break from Hector Bellerin. Bellerin went swiftly  into the box to set up Ramsey, who capped a brilliant week as he score his first goal of the season and also helped Wales to quality for the Euros 2016. The win sees the Gunners rise to second place, two points behind league leaders Manchester City, while Watford sit 14th with 10 points from their opening nine Premier League games.

Newcastle 6 - 2 Norwich
Georginio Wijnaldum scored four times in a breathtaking performance as Newcastle United romped to a 6-2 victory over Norwich City at St
James' Park to move off the bottom of the Barclays Premier League \ table. The Netherlands international, who became only the second Newcastle player to score four goals in a BPL match after Alan Shearer, opened the scoring with a low finish. Robbie Brady hit the post for the visitors, before Norwich drew level when Dieumerci Mbokani
\ converted from close range. A Wijnaldum header and Ayoze Perez's strike had Steve McClaren's men two goals ahead, but Nathan Redmond's volley put the match back in the balance until a second-half strike from Aleksandar Mitrovic and another Wijnaldum header ended the contest. The Dutchman then put the icing on the cake when his long-range effort flew into the top corner with the help of a slight deflection to seal a morale-boosting victory ahead of next week's trip to local rivals Sunderland.

Swansea 0 - 1 Stoke
An early penalty from Bojan Krkic proved decisive as Stoke City beat Swansea City 1-0 in the Barclays Premier League at the Liberty Stadium. The Spanish forward won the spot-kick and converted what was the only goal in a match of few chances. Jonjo Shelvey came inches away from equalising in the second half, but his drive from a tight angle rebounded to safety off the inside of Jack Butland's far post. The result secured consecutive away wins for Stoke for the first time since December 2011 and moves Mark Hughes's side to 11th, above Swansea, who are winless in five league matches since beating Manchester United in August.
