The story follows a caretaker named Louisa Clark (Clarke) tasked with taking on a paralyzed young banker named Will Traynor (Sam Claflin of The Hunger Games franchise), who is having trouble finding joy in life since an accident put him in a wheelchair a couple years ago. But Clarke’s endless charm just might be enough to get him out and about, as evidenced by a new Me Before You trailer that you can see after the jump. his trailer is surprisingly almost completely different from the previously released extended trailer from across the pond that debuted about a month ago. The bulk of the trailer focuses on a scene between Louisa and Will as she sits in his lap on the dance floor of an upscale party. The fact that Will calls her Clark feels slightly strange since it’s as if he’s really talking to Emilia Clarke and not her character.
Charles Dance also stars in this movie, though he appears to be a much better father than he was in the HBO fantasy show. At the very least, he’s not trying to kill his son just because he’s paralyzed. Surely that wouldn’t be the case if this story took place in Westeros.
Me Before You marks the feature debut of Thea Sharrock, working from a script by (500) Days of Summer scribes Michael H. Weber and Scott Neustadter
