Kenneth Choi Joins Spider-Man: Homecoming

The cast of Spider-Man: Homecoming continues to grow, with Kenneth Choi being the latest actor to join the film. As with pretty much every other addition to this highly anticipated movie, no official details about who he’s playing have been revealed, but Deadline mentions that he’ll be the principal of Peter Parker’s high school.

The most surprising thing about Choi joining Spider-Man: Homecoming is the fact that he’s already appeared in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. It was back in 2011 that the actor played Jim Morita, a member of the Howling Commandos in the World War II-set Captain America: The First Avenger. Chances are that it’s the latter option, but this is still a pretty surprising move by the studios. It’s no good looking to the comics for help on who Choi is playing either, as there has never been a prominent high school principal in Peter’s life.

Directed by Jon Watts, Spider-Man: Homecoming is set to be released on July 17th, 2016. Tom Holland, Marisa Tomei, Robert Downey Jr. and Michael Keaton are all set to star in the reboot, which will pick up with the wall-crawler after he made his MCU debut in Captain America: Civil War last month.
