Nipping at the heels of a report that seemingly outs two new villains, Watts began by outlining the core appeal of Peter Parker who, despite the global calamities that often follow The Avengers, still has his nose in the books as an ordinary high school student. Watts said “That was always the idea. To me, one of the things that makes Peter Parker so interesting is that in this crazy world, where the Avengers exist and where all of these incredible things are happening, there is still high school. Plus, he has a secret identity and no one can know. It just allows you to tell a very unique story in this already amazing world.”
Embracing his newfound identity as Spidey, Tom Holland is joined in Spider-Man: Homecoming by Oscar-winner Michael Keaton, Robert Downey Jr., Marisa Tomei, Logan Marshall-Green, Donald Glover, Kenneth Choi, Hannibal Buress, Michael Mando, Bokeem Woodbine, Abraham Attah, Tony Revolori, Tyne Daly, Garcelle Beauvais, Tiffany Espensen, Zendaya and Angourie Rice.
Spider-Man: Homecoming is earmarked for theatrical release on July 7, 2017.
