Beenie Man down with Zika virus

Multiple sources have confirmed that dancehall legend, Beenie Man has tested positive to Zika virus.

While Thenetng can not independently confirm if Beenie Man is indeed down with the virus, some fans thought the Zika virus was a publicity stunt on to promote Drake‘s OVO Fest.

Beenie Man himself confirmed the reports with an Instagram post as he shared a photo from his hospital bed with the caption, ‘Jah know…dah week ya deal wid me a way!! No visa fi mi Canada show (I apologize again to my fans in case you haven’t seen the press release)  Zika Virus hol’ mi”.

The Jamaican born act was subsequently denied visa by the Canadian government.

Zika virus has quickly become an epidemic in the Americas. The virus has become prevalent in many parts of South and Central America, as well as Beenie’s native Caribbean.

Although the virus is very dangerous for pregnant women due to the high risk of birth defects, according to the Centre for Disease Control, the average infected person will experience few to no symptoms.
