Update On Morgan

Meet Morgan. She (it?) is not like you, I, or any other human being on the planet for that matter; instead, Anya Taylor-Joy’s reticent lead is a bioengineered superhuman and as today’s all-new clip proves, one that shouldn’t be pushed out of her man-made comfort zone.

the snippet involves Anya Taylor-Joy being quizzed by Paul Giamatti’s scientist, who seems to have a temper problem of his own. Once the interview begins, it isn’t long before Giamatti’s wild-eyed professional flies off the handle, berating Morgan with questions that she isn’t designed to contemplate let alone answer. Alas, judging by the abrupt and indeed ambiguous ending, it’s Giamatti who becomes prey to Morgan’s wrath.

Centering on Kate Mara’s corporate troubleshooter, Morgan stands as the directorial debut of Luke Scott. Scott is a name that holds great weight in the sci-fi genre and sure enough, Luke is the son of the decorated Ridley Scott, and we understand the former gained some invaluable directing lessons by serving as second unit on Alien: Covenant.

Channeling that experience into Morgan, the official synopsis for next month’s cerebral thriller follows Mara’s character as she is sent to a remote, top-secret location, where she is to investigate and evaluate a terrifying accident. She learns the event was triggered by a seemingly innocent human, who presents a mystery of both infinite promise and incalculable danger.
Also starring Rose Leslie, Toby Jones and Boyd Holbrook, Morgan is set to open on September 2.
