Full Trailer For Sci-Fi Passengers

 

Nipping at the heels of yesterday’s soppy promo, the full trailer for Chris Pratt and Jennifer Lawrence’s sci-fi epic Passengers has finally launched onto the interwebs. Chronicling the gripping tale of Jim Preston and Aurora Dunn, today’s jam-packed snippet mixes romance, action, intriguing drama and full-blown science fiction, with Preston and Dunn on board the transport vessel known as Starship Avalon. Bound for a star system called Homestead II, our two protagonists are initially housed up in the bowels of the ship, safely stowed away and under cryogenic sleep when a technical malfunction jolts them awake 30 years into a 120 year journey. Yikes.


But as Pratt’s character teases towards the end of today’s reveal trailer, there seems to be a reason behind their crude awakening. Doctor Strange and Prometheus screenwriter Jon Spaihts is the brains behind the script, and early signs point to Aurora Perrineau and Laurence Fishburne’s high-ranking figure holding some of the answers. There’s also the proposition of Michael Sheen’s erratic AI to contend with.

What we do know is that Morten Tyldum, the director who nabbed an Oscar nomination for his work on The Imitation Game, is calling the shots behind the lens and if nothing else, Passengers is shaping up to be a sumptuous visual treat.


Come December 21, Chris Pratt and Jennifer Lawrence will be bound for the inky blackness of space with Tyldum’s Passengers.
