The Nigerian movie industry has again been rocked with a
shocking death of Nollywood film-maker and actor, who passed on on his
birthday.
Prince Afam Chiazor, a former president of the Guild of Cinematographers, reportedly slumped and died on a movie set in the early hours of Saturday, October 22.
Some
of his colleagues had taken to their social media accounts to wish him a happy
birthday on the day, before getting to know the Delta-native had died some
hours earlier.

Guild of Nigeria, confirmed the shocking news of Prince Afam’s death on his
Instagram.
‘The news of the passing of my Brother President.
President of The Guild of Cinematographers comes as a rude shock. Afam Chiazor
was a professional who believed in the industry and dedicated his energy to the
betterment of Nollywood. That he passed on set in active service is a testimony
to his love and dedication to his art. He will surely be missed. May his gentle
soul rest in perfect peace.’
Afam
Chizor was a graduate of University of Benin, and he honed his skills at the
Nigerian Film Institute in Jos, before studying the art of movie directing at
Del-York International.
The
cause of his death is yet to be ascertained.
